What is LOTLC?
LOTLC stands for Legends of the Lost Coin.
LOTLC is the Legends of the Lost Coin mobile app: a GPS and AR treasure hunting experience where real places, historical legends, field dossiers, clue solving, crowdfunding, and virtual treasure reveals come together in live expeditions.

LOTLC™ is a mobile adventure app that transforms historical legends, frontier routes, local mysteries, and cultural landmarks into real-world GPS and AR expeditions. It is a living map of stories created by player contributors and sponsors, and a way to move through real places with more curiosity and purpose. Not the extrovert or outdoors type? 02 / Pilot expeditions
The first pilot expeditions
Pilot expeditions begin in TBD cities.
LOTLC pilot expeditions will begin in TBD cities, with launch locations selected around sponsor support, local story strength, player demand, and safe approved expedition zones. Kit Karson’s Frontier remains the first featured pilot legend, with its launch city and field route to be announced.
When LOTLC uses the word “crowdfunding,” it means pooling a portion of subscription contributions to fund the production and placement of AR expedition chests. The subscription pays for ongoing app access, including Lore Mode™ and Collector Mode™; it is not described as payment for entry into a treasure hunt.
As they approach the hidden GPS/AR signal, the app guides them with radar, haptic feedback, and a final AR reveal. Pilot expedition launch dates are TBD and will be announced once activation thresholds, city approvals, and field logistics are confirmed.
Finder rewardsFirst 100
The first 100 verified finders are eligible for rewards. After each verified find, the expedition chest respawns to a new approved GPS/AR location inside the expedition zone, allowing more explorers to participate.

XP Expeditions
Trail-based adventures built for repeat play. Follow real-world routes, earn checkpoint XP, complete trail chests, climb seasonal leaderboards, and compete for top-100 season rewards.
X Marks™
Classic X Marks the Spot mode created by approved contributors and sponsors. Gather resources, plan, and wait for thresholds to release legendary treasure hunt locations.
Crowdfunded Expeditions
Story-driven live events where monthly subscriptions and expedition entries help fund a specific legend into the field. Subscriber support activates production, while additional entry fees can increase the expedition's reward value.

The LORE Network™ powers the expedition layer.
LOTLC™ and the underlying LORE Network™ platform are associated with a provisional patent-pending framework covering proprietary systems for real-world exploration gameplay, automated expedition funding, proof-of-exploration validation, dynamic reward distribution, and related expedition mechanics.
